The Virtual Working Group: Book Launch Party Photos and Video

Watch Virtual Working Group Expert, Yael Zofi Celebrate The Launch Of Her New Book

I am pleased to announce that my virtual working group book, A Manager’s Guide to Virtual Teams was released this August, and to help mark this milestone, AIM Strategies® organized a great virtual work teams book launch party on Sept. 22nd. Over 100 clients, colleagues and friends were in attendance. Even if you were not able to be there in person, you can join this celebration virtually by viewing this photo gallery celebration.

Below is a short video of Yael speaking at the event:

Here are a few quotes from virtual working group leaders on the book:
“The significant value of this book is that Zofi explains how to help virtual teams function effectively. Based on data from more than 150 interviews with managers and members of virtual teams, coupled with examples of how technology enables the work, and from her experiences working with virtual teams, Zofi helps to understand what success looks like in the workplace of the 21st century.”
– W. Warner Burke, Ph.D., Edward Lee Thorndike Professor of Psychology and Education, Teachers College, Columbia University

“Regardless of where you are in your career, A Manager’s Guide to Virtual Teams is a well organized and comprehensive resource within the global management landscape. It provides global managers with a necessary toolkit and solutions enabling them to establish and inspire winning teams.”

So exciting to see so many colleagues and friends, thank you everybody for coming and celebrating the publication of my new virtual working group book, “A Manager’s Guide to Virtual Teams”.

It’s written in a very simple practical way, very common sense for you the virtual manager.

How many here work with teams every day and work with people that you’ve never met? This is very challenging for the virtual managers, so what is the biggest obstacle that managers have? So, these are some of the questions that I’ve been exploring for the past two decades. I interviewed over 150 virtual managers and team members and their stories come to life in the book, not just their stories, but their situations so that out of sight did not become out of mind.

It’s been an amazing experience because the book actually the case studies and the stories and scenarios in it offer a roadmap at the end of each chapter.

When I first told Susan I wanted to write a book, the first reaction was “Are you crazy?” She is filling the sentence. Can you tell that we’ve work together for a long time?

Somebody actually came up to me tonight and said “How did this event even happen?” and I said: “Because of my AIM Team”.
