SHRM Conference Session on Virtual Teams Project Management

Check Out Yael’s Presentation on Virtual Teams Project Management

Virtual teams project management is very prominent these days. For the next two weeks our blog posts will focus on the upcoming SHRM Conference in Atlanta, where Yael Zofi will be running two full day sessions on virtual teams project management called Managing a Virtual Workforce. For those who were expecting “Virtual Teams Video Cliff Notes”, they will resume at the end of the month.

SHRM is known for holding wonderful global conferences. With keynote speakers like Malcolm Gladwell, Condoleezza Rice, Jim Collins, and Tom Brokaw, the 15,000+ participants will surely take away world-class ideas. The conference will focus on areas like Leadership, Change Management, Global Talent Management, Global Compliance, Virtual Teams Project Management, Recruiting and New Media and Cross Cultural Insights, along with other Global Human Resource Management topics. Presenters include global leaders, game changers, visionaries and authors. In addition, participants will have the chance to meet up with media enterprises and relevant vendors.

Yael’s session, Managing a Virtual Workforce : Bringing Reality to Your Virtual Teams, is part of the “Advanced Recertification” conference track. She will discuss ways HR executives can better serve the changing needs of their virtual clients to become true ‘Agents of Connection’, to facilitate the all-important human connection in the virtual workplace. Her session includes interactive discussions, engaging activities and case studies. Her workshop will follow topics based on chapters of her book, A Manager’s Guide to Virtual Teams, and conclude with creating a Virtual Teams Roadmap.

Here is the full description of her session:

Virtual Teams (VTs) are creating new challenges. Perhaps the most critical one is the human connection. Connection is the lifeblood of organizations, and without it VTs cannot achieve optimum performance. In this interactive session, Yael will share highlights from her latest book A Manager’s Guide to Virtual Teams, provide field research insights and explore four key virtual challenges: Creating Context Communication, Establishing Trust and Accountability, Conducting Virtual Mediation and Getting Deliverables Out the Door, with a special focus on Cross Cultural Communications and HR’s role in serving the changing needs of our growing virtual workforce.

On June 23rd and 24th Yael will sign her book at the international SHRM bookstore.

There are several ways to follow Yael’s conference experiences and get real-time updates: Twitter, #virtualteams and SHRM12 hash tags. Also, look for photos and videos on our Facebook page.
